Ph.D.(ABD) Daniel S. Baeq, Biblical and Missiological Studies / President

Rev. Baeq is the senior pastor of Bethel Korean Presbyterian Church.  He studied at Chung-Ang Univ. (B.A.), Chong-Shin Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and Fuller Theological Seminary (Th.M). He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Intercultural Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

 

Ph.D. Jeong Koo Jeon, Biblical and Systematic Studies

Dr. Jeon studied at Westminster Theological Seminary in California (M.A Religious Studies) and Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia (Ph.D. in Theological Studies). He taught at Faith Theological Seminary in Maryland.

 

Ph.D., Jung Woo Lih, Organizational Leadership in Higher Education / Dean

Dr. Lih studied industrial engineering (B.S. & M.S.) at Incheon National University in South Korea. In American, he learned a theological (M.Div.) and cross-cultural (M.A.) studies at Fuller Theological Seminary (CA.), and studied an administrative leadership program of higher education (Ph.D.) from Azusa Pacific University (CA). 

 

Ph.D. Hyo Seok Lim, Missional and Systematic Studies

Dr. Lim received degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (Sociology, B.A.), Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary (M.Div.), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Th.M. and Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies)

Ph.D. Sung Wook Chung, Systematic Theology

Dr. Chung joined the faculty of Denver Seminary in 2005 and serves as Professor of Christian Theology and Director of the Asian Initiative. He is a member of the American Academy of Religion, Evangelical Theological Society, Calvin Studies Society, Society of Biblical Literature, and the Karl Barth Society of North America. Dr. Chung earned a DPhil from the University of Oxford and an MDiv from Harvard University.

 

Ph.D. Samuel Sung Sam Kang, Biblical Studies of Mission

Dr. Kang studied at Columbia Graduate School (M.A. Bible and Mission), and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies). He served as the dean of School of World Mission at Chong-Shin University, Seoul, Korea.

 

Ph.D. Brian Byung-Joo Kim, Educational Studies

Dr. Kim earned a Ph.D. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, a Th.M. from Calvin Theological Seminary, and an M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary. Dr. Kim has served as the senior pastor at Calvary Church in the Chicago area since 2011. He has been involved in a number of different ministries, including teaching practical theology at Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary of Midwest, serving as the chair of the educational department in the Korean Churches Federation of Greater Chicago.

 

Ph.D. Dong Su Kim, New Testament Studies

Dr. Kim earned two Ph.D. degrees at University of Pennsylvania (in International Relations) and Westminster Theological Seminary (in Pauline Theology). He currently serves as the President of Saint Paul Academy of Theology, New Jersey, NJ. 

 

Ph.D. Eui Won Kim, Old Testament Studies

Dr. Kim served as the president of Chong-Shin University (2000-2004) where he taught the Old Testament over 20 years.  He graduated from the Westminster Theological Seminary (M.Div. and Th.M.) and the New York University (Ph.D.).  As the president of the ATEA, he still travels and teaches pastors and missionaries around the world.

 

Ph.D. Timothy K. Park, History of Mission

Dr. Park earned a Ph.D. degrees of Inter-Cultural Studies at Fuller Theological Seminary (C.A.).  He has been on the faculty and director (Korean Studies Program) at the School of Intercultural Studies at Fuller Theological Seminary since 1996, teaching Asian missions. 

Bethel Theological Seminary is a religious educational institution operating in the State of Maryland pursuant to an exemption granted by the Maryland Higher Education Commission, without a certificate of approval from the Commission, as specified in the Code of Maryland Regulations 13B.02.04.
